Certified organic, naturally pasture raised heritage pork butt roast, available from our local family farmCertified organic pork from Whispering MeadowsThe pork butt roast, despite the name, comes from the shoulder of the hog, above the shoulder blade.  It is a well marbled roast, that comes from one of the harder-working muscle groups of the pig.  When cooked low and slow, the collagen connective tissues break down into gelatin, resulting in a succulent, falling-apart, melt-in-your-mouth meat.

The fat content of pork butt makes it well suited to any kind of slow cooking — smoking, braising, slow-roasting, Instant Pot, or slow cooker.  With a long cooking time at a low temperature, you’ll get a very tender meat that you can enjoy as-is, or use for any recipe that calls for pulled pork.

Our heritage hogs are grown without antibiotics or synthetic hormones, on free-range pasture, with 100% organic feed.  They live a stress-free life with no cages or crowding.  We believe this gives you the best pork butt roast you can find anywhere.
